Dubday flies to victory in Qatar

Colt is Dubawi’s eighth Stakes winner this year

It may only be February, but Dubawi’s tally of Stakes winners already stands at eight with his latest Black type success coming courtesy of Dubday, who landed the Listed HH The Emirs Trophy in Qatar.

Settled in mid-division under Frankie Dettori, the four-year-old colt looked to have plenty to do once entering the home straight but once asked to quicken, absolutely flew home – sweeping past his rivals to win by three quarters of a length.

Winner of the Qatar Derby last year, this was Dubday’s fourth win in eight career starts.

Dubawi is also sire this year of G2-winning duo Prince Bishop and Catkins, plus Lucky Nine – winner of the Chairman’s Sprint Prize in Hong Kong (a local G1 contest). He stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £100,000 October 1st Special Live Foal.
