Dubawi mare storms to second Stakes victory

Shamal Wind wins Listed WJ Adams Stakes at Caulfield

Dubawi mare Shamal Wind resumed from a break and claimed her second Stakes victory with a win in the Listed WJ Adams Stakes over 5f at Caulfield, Australia, February 1.

Eased early from her outside barrier, the pint-sized speedster came with a withering sprint in the home straight to post a narrow but impressive win.

Bred by Mr M Edwards and Widden Stud, Shamal Wind is the only named foal of winning Machiavellian mare Firemaid, a granddaughter of G1 winner My Darling One.

Coming off a brilliant 2013 where he sired 18 individual Group winners including five G1 winners, Dubawi will stand the 2014 season at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £100,000 Oct 1st SLF.
