Dubawi filly lands her second G1 victory

Happy Archer wins the Garden Province Stakes at Greyville in South Africa

Happy Archer, a Group One-winning juvenile for Dubawi in 2010, recorded her second victory at the top level when landing the G1 Garden Province Stakes over a mile at Greyville on Saturday.

Bred in Australia by Racetree, Happy Archer is out of the Jeune mare So Tempted and won the G1 Thekwini Fillies’ Stakes over course and distance last year. She also finished second, beaten just a short-head, in the G2 Tibouchina Stakes at Clairwood on 13 June.

Along with 2,000 Guineas winner Makfi, Dubawi Heights, Poet’s Voice and Secret Admirer, she is one of five Group One winners for Dubawi, who has sired 12 individual stakes winner already in 2011, including Monterosso, Worthadd and Perfect Tribute.

On Saturday, Dubawi also sired the runner-up, Labrice, in the G3 Hamburger Stutenpreis, run over 2200m at Hamburg.
