Catkins does it again

Consistent Dubawi mare Catkins claimed her third Stakes victory with a narrow win in the G3 Sportingbet Sprint Series Stakes over 6f at Caulfield, Australia, September 21.

Catkins had no favours in the run, caught wide after jumping from the outside barrier. Despite enduring a tough run, the mare hit the lead at the 200m mark and fought off several challengers to land a gutsy win.

The win took Catkins' record to 14 starts for seven wins and four second placings.

Bred by Owen Carter, Catkins is the second foal from Catbird mare Salix Caprea, a half-sister to Stakes winner Rally.

Catkins is one of 17 individual Stakes winners for Dubawi this year. The Dalham Hall flagbearer has been enjoying a superb season, recording four individual G1 winners and a further eight Group winners.
