Brownstown Stakes victory for Tobann

Teofilo filly becomes her sire’s second Stakes winner of the week with Group victory at Fairyhouse

Teofilo continued his successful week on 2 July when his daughter Tobann ran out the impressive winner of the G3 Brownstown Stakes at Fairyhouse.

Settled in fifth position under Kevin Manning, Jim Bolger’s homebred filly travelled well throughout the seven-furlong contest and taking the lead a furlong from home, ran on superbly to win by a length and a half from Majestic Queen (Kheleyf’s fellow Group winner).

Tobann is out of the winning Indian Ridge mare Precipitous, a daughter of Group performer Dathuil and from the family of G1 performers Luminata, Cuis Ghaire and Scintillula.

Teofilo has now sired 13 Stakes performers this year, including G1 winner Sonntag, Oaks second Tarfasha and promising colt Arod – due to reappear in the G2 Princess Of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket next week.
