Bocaiuva’s Stakes win continues successful day for Teofilo

3yo filly’s victory at Chantilly follows €950k yearling at Goffs

Teofilo has enjoyed a very successful day both on the racecourse and in the sales ring, with his three-year-old daughter Bocaiuva becoming his latest Stakes winner just a few hours after a full sister to his talented filly Tarfasha sold for €950,000 at Goffs.

In the Listed Prix Charles Laffitte at Chantilly, Bocaiuva was settled towards the rear of the field early on in the ten-furlong contest but soon responded once asked to quicken in the home straight and ran on superbly to win by a length. Her paternal half-sister Jiayuguan added her first Black type by taking third.

Bred by Janus Bloodstock, Bocaiuva is out of the Group-winning mare Breath Of Love – dam of four winners from four foals to race. A daughter of G1 Prix de la Foret third Breath Taking, the mare is a half-sister to multiple G2 winner Borodislew.

Earlier in the day, Shadwell Stud had to go to €950,000 to secure Teofilo’s full sister to his Oaks second and Group winner Tarfasha on the second day of trading at Goffs. The filly, out of Grecian Bride, was consigned by Rockfield Farm.
