Adool impresses for Teofilo

Filly lands first Stakes success on only her third start

Adool may have been the least experienced runner in the field, but she showed plenty of talent to land the Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park on Wednesday evening.

The three-year-old daughter of Teofilo, bred and owned by Sheikh Hamdan's Shadwell Estate Company Ltd, Adool was settled behind the leaders in the early part of the extended nine furlong contest, before making her move a furlong from home. At the line, the Dermot Weld-trained filly held a half-length advantage over her 13 rivals.

Having made a winning debut in June at Fairyhouse, Adool was building on the promise of her second start when she was third to Decorated Knight in the G3 Meld Stakes. Speaking after her Gowran Park success, Weld confirmed that the filly would step back up to Group class for her next start.

Adool is out of the Storm Cat mare Khulood, winner of the G3 Nell Gwyn Stakes, and hails from the excellent family of the top sprinter Elnadim from the highly successful Elle Seule branch of the Fall Aspen family.

Adool is one of 26 Stakes horses sired by Teofilo in 2016 including top-flight scorers Special Fighter and Palentino and the G1 performers Massaat and Kermadec.
